Pittaja Yoni vyapad (पित्तला / पैत्तिकी योनिव्यापद)

व्यापत्कटवमललवणक्षारादयै: पित्तजा भवेत् ||
दहपाकज्वरोष्णर्ता निलपीतसितार्तवा |
भृशोष्णकुनपस्रावा योनि: स्यात्पित्तदुषिता || (च.चि. 30/11-12)
Charaka has described that due excessive use of hot, sour, salty or alkaline substances pittaja gynecological disorder develops. The vitiated pitta reaches reproductive organs and causes burning sensation and suppuration (local ) associated with fever and heat (generalized). Her menstrual blood becomes blue, yellow or black in colour, excess in amount, hot and smells like dead body.
This type of vaginal bleeding occurs during intermenstrual period or this disease resembles pittaja asrugdara, is the opinion of chakrapani.
अत्यर्थं पित्तला योनिर्दाहपाकज्वरान्विता | (सु. उ. 38/14)
Sushruta has only described burning sensation, suppuration and fever.
Nidana- Samprapti (निदान-संप्राप्ति)
कटु, अमल, लवण,क्षार, सेवन --> दूषित पित्त योनि मे जाकर --> पित्तज योनि व्यापद
Lakshan (लक्षण) -
स्थानिक लक्षण - दाह (burning sensation) , पाक (Suppuration)
सर्वदैहिक लक्षण - ज्वर, उष्णता ( fever, heat)
आर्तवस्राव लक्षण - नील, पीत, असित आर्तव, भृश, उष्ण, कुणपस्राव (blue, yellow, black artava , excess in amount, hot and smells like dead body)
Treatment (चिकित्सा)
कारयेद्रक्तपित्तघ्नं शीतं पित्तकृतासु च || (च.चि. 30/ 42)
1.Yonirogas caused by vitiation of pitta, cooling drugs or methods prescribed for raktapitta should be used.
2. Seka (local irrigation), Abhyanga( Massage), Pichu (Tampons) prepared with the drugs either having cooling properties or capable of suppressing pitta should be done.
3. Kalakadharana - Panchavalkala kalka
4. Uttarabasti - Kshreeravasti with madhura gana dravyas processed in milk.
5. Phalaghrita for external use.
6. Ghritapana - बृहत शतावरी घृत , जीवनिय द्रव्य सिद्ध घृत.
Dear sir/madam,
Many websites state that peanuts aggravate pitta. I cannot find anything about peanuts in the scriptures. Are they pitta aggravating indeed?
In Ayurveda Peanut is called Kalaya.
When we see its properties
Guna : Ruksha (dry)
It balances Kapha
Is indeed Pittahara – Useful in pitta imbalance, diosrders such as gastritis, burning sensation etc.
So, they are not actually pitta aggravating.
